CARPATHIAN REGION. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.47 g, 6 h), 'Baumreiter' type, imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to left, wearing helmet with large S-form crest terminating in annulet and holding branch in his right hand; before, small animal; below, small pellet and floral ornament. Dembski 1085a. Flesche 691. Lanz 419. OTA 129/3-4. SLM 1268. A very well struck, perfectly centered and attractively toned example. Good very fine.
